Munster Technological University Kerry (MTU Kerry) TTO
The primary role of the technology transfer office (TTO) at MTU Kerry is to promote collaborative research focused on delivering innovative solutions to our industrial partners in order to promote competitiveness and new job creation. MTU Kerry is a consortium partner within the Bridge Network Technology Transfer consortium. Led by UCC, the Bridge Network consortium comprises 4 TTO’s from UCC, Teagasc, MTU Cork and MTU Kerry. The Bridge Network consortium enables MTU Kerry to work closely with our consortium partners to ensure a consistent approach to academic-industry technology transfer activities is provided across the South and South West regions. Funded by Enterprise Ireland and supported by Knowledge Transfer Ireland, our industry partners will avail of the highest standards of IP management and knowledge transfer practices in their collaborations with MTU Kerry.
Over the past 3 years our researchers secured over €5m in highly competitive national and EU research funding awards, published over 120 research papers and completed over 90 market-needs research projects with external companies.
MTU Kerry supports a thriving research community of over 150 researchers including academic staff, research professionals and postgraduate students many of whom are linked to one of our larger research centres: Shannon ABC and IMaR Technology Gateways (both funded under the Enterprise Ireland Technology Gateways programme) and the University’s UNESCO Chair research centre.
The TTO at MTU Kerry advises on how to maximise the rewards of bringing new inventions to market for public use and benefit. Please contact the Head of Research (contact details above) at MTU Kerry if you are interested in collaborating with MTU Kerry researchers or have any technology transfer queries.
